TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE Should this unit exhibit a problem, check the following before seeking service: Symptom Radio Noise or sound distorted on radio broadcasts. FM STEREO indicator does not light. Possible Cause Station not tuned properly for AM or FM. AM: Unit is not positioned correctly. FM: Wire antenna is not extended. Poor or no FM signal being received. Solution Retune the AM or FM broadcast station. Rotate unit for best reception. Extend FM wire antenna. Retune station or try another station that broadcasts in stereo. AM or FM, no sound. TUNER is not selected. Press the FUNCTION button to select Tuner. Compact Disc Player CD Player will not play. CD skips while playing. General No power. Remote not working. No sound. CD is not selected. CD is not installed or is installed incorrectly. Disc is dirty or scratched. AC power cord is not connected. Battery not inserted, or inserted incorrectly. Volume at minimum. MUTE function is ON. Press the FUNCTION button to select CD. Insert CD with label facing forward. Wipe disc with cloth or use another disc. Connect AC power cord. Insert battery correctly. Increase volume. Press MUTE button to restore the sound.
