Auto Mode B Note on Multi-shot 16 Smear (A 128) visible in the monitor when shooting with Multi-shot 16 will be visible in the saved image data. To reduce smear effects, avoid bright objects such as the sun, reflections of the sun, and electric lights when shooting. More on Shooting ISO Sensitivity A (auto) M d (Shooting menu) M ISO sensitivity When ISO sensitivity is increased, less light is needed when taking pictures. Higher ISO sensitivity allows darker subjects to be captured. Additionally, even with subjects of similar brightness, pictures can be taken at faster shutter speeds, and blurring caused by camera shake and subject movement can be reduced. • Although higher ISO sensitivity is effective when shooting darker subjects, shooting without the flash, shooting with the camera zoomed in, etc., images may contain noise. Auto (default setting) Sensitivity is ISO 80 under normal conditions; when lighting is poor and the flash is off, the camera compensates by raising sensitivity to a maximum of ISO 800. 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200, 6400 Sensitivity will be locked at the specified value. • When ISO sensitivity is locked, Motion detection (A 114) does not function. The icon for the current setting is displayed in the monitor (A 8). When Auto is selected, the E icon is not displayed at ISO 80, but is displayed if the ISO sensitivity automatically increases to more than 80 (A 30).
