Problem Unexpected results when flash set to V (auto with red-eye reduction). Cause/Solution When taking pictures with V (auto with red-eye reduction), or when taking pictures with Night portrait (either in easy auto mode or in scene mode) and the fill flash with slow sync and red-eye reduction is used, red-eye reduction may be applied, in rare cases, to areas not affected by red-eye. Use auto mode or any scene mode other than Night portrait, and change the flash mode to any setting other than V (auto with red-eye reduction) and try taking a picture again. A 39, 53 Skin tones are not softened. • In some shooting conditions, facial skin tones may not be smoothed. • Use Skin softening in the playback menu for images containing four or more faces. 49 78, E21 Saving images takes time. It may take more time to save images in the following situations. • When the noise reduction function is in operation, such as when shooting in a dark environment • When the flash mode is set to V (auto with red- eye reduction) • When shooting using Night landscape in scene mode • When the skin softening function is applied while shooting • When using continuous shooting - 55 40 38, 39, 64 64, E44 Technical Notes and Index F13
