Symptom Explanation Action The ATTENTION light is on. ATTENTION light is blinking. Although no print job is sent, the message "Printing" appears on the control panel (when using the parallel interface). Poor print quality. The correct characters are not printed (printing garbage). The printout is different from what is displayed on the screen. Is there an error message displayed on the control panel? An error that you cannot rectify yourself has occurred. You turned on the computer after turning on the printer? There may be a problem with the image. This printer is printing with nonstandard built-in fonts. Did you change the TrueType font settings to printer fonts? Check the displayed message and rectify the error. See page 103 Record the displayed error message or error code, turn off the power, pull out the power plug from the outlet, and then call for service. Press . In the future, be sure to turn on the computer power before turning on the printer. Refer to " When the Print Quality is Poor" (page 100) Check the fonts used in the application. Download the necessary fonts when using PostScript. Change to TrueType font printing for [Font Substitution] on the [Setup] tab of the printer driver.
