Menu setting method Rec Menu Rec Level Recording sensitivity is adjustable to meet recording needs. 1 Select [Rec Level] from the menu on the [Rec Menu]. [High]: High recording sensitivity suitable for conferences with many participants and recording audio at a distance or low volume. [Low]: Standard recording sensitivity suitable for dictation. Note • When you would like to clearly record a speaker's voice, set [Rec Level] to [Low] and hold recorder's built-in microphone close to the speaker's mouth (5-10 cm). Rec Mode Besides stereo* and monaural recording, you can also select recording with priority to sound quality, and recording with priority to recording time. Select the recording mode appropriate to your needs. * VN-702PC only 1 Select [Rec Mode] from the menu on the [Rec Menu]. When [MP3]* is selected: Stereo recording [192kbps], [128kbps] Monaural recording [48kbps] * VN-702PC only When [WMA] is selected: Monaural recording [32kbps], [16kbps], [5kbps] Notes • If a recording is made in stereo modes ([192 kbps] or [128 kbps]), it will be a monaural recording through the built-in microphone, and the same audio will be recorded to both Left channel (Lch) and Right channel (Rch). • To record a meeting and lecture clearly, set other than [5kbps] in [Rec Mode]. For VN-702PC: • When an external monaural microphone is used while [Rec Mode] is set to a stereo recording mode, audio will be recorded to the L channel only. Low Cut Filter 4 The recorder has a Low Cut Filter function to minimize low-frequency sounds and record voices more clearly. 1 Select [Low Cut Filter] from the menu on the [Rec Menu].
