Shooting Using the zoom function This camera is equipped with 22 power optical zoom. Operate zoom with either the zoom lever or the zoom ring. Zoom lever When the switch is put in the position, zoom can be operated with the zoom lever by means of motor drive. : Zoom in : Zoom out Push the zoom lever on the hand strap lightly to zoom slowly, and push it strongly to zoom quickly. The operation speed of zoom with the zoom lever on the handle can be switched among three speeds with the switch. Speed setting of the switch can be changed with the [HANDLE ZOOM] item of the setup menu [SW MODE] screen. (Page 27 , 87) When the USER button to which [D.ZOOM] was assigned is pressed, the resolution switches through the sequence OFF (X 1)X 2X 5X 10OFF (X 1). ••Image quality is coarse to the extent that zoom ratio is large. ••When other than OFF (X 1) is selected, the current resolution is displayed in the viewfinder and the LCD monitor. ••The digital zoom function is not available when the AREA function using the knob is activated.
