The small indentation just below the REDIAL button is the microphone. The two metal ridges at the bottom of the handset are the charge contacts. Along the sides of the handset are two indentations that secure the belt clip. The belt clip snaps into place with the small ridges on the curved arms locking into each of the indentations on the side of the handset. With the handset still facing you, you will find the headset jack on the left side of the handset, parallel to the TALK button. It has a rubber cover that can be opened by pulling down, and is not removable. Finally on the reverse side of the handset, to the top right is the ringer indicator. The textured area in the center of the handset, is the handset speakerphone's speaker. Just below the speaker is the battery compartment with a notch. Its upper edge is parallel to the speakerphone button and the MENU button. BASE UNIT With the base unit facing you, you will find antenna on the right side of the base unit. The antenna can be easily rotated so that they always point upward, whether the unit is placed on a desk or is wall-mounted. The top of the base unit has a large hole in the center and slants a little down toward the front. This is the cradle for charging the handset standing up, which only fits one way. The two metal ridges on the sides are the charge contacts for the cordless handset. The cordless handset stands upright in the cradle with the buttons facing the front. The unit beeps when the cordless handset is set properly in the cradle for charging. To the lower right of the base unit, is the HANDSET LOCATOR button. To the lower left of the base unit, are two round depressions. The upper one is the IN USE or CHARGE indicator. The lower one is the VM (Voice Mail) indicator. 03.5.26 6:23 PM KX-TG2216
