This notification is displayed momentarily on both the handset and the base unit, and announced 2 times. The announcement is in English only. The default setting is "On". Important: R To use the text message alert feature, you need to pair your cellular phone to the base unit (page 17). R Your cellular phone must support Message Access Profile (MAP) specification. We recommend that you confirm if your cellular phone supports MAP in advance. Important: R 1 headset can be paired to the base unit. However, only one Bluetooth device (cellular phone or headset) can be connected to the base unit at a time. R For best performance, we recommend using a Bluetooth headset within 1 m (3.3 feet) of the base unit. A headset can communicate with the base unit within a range of approximately 10 m (33 feet).
