Useful Information Troubleshooting Problem The unit does not work. I cannot hear a dial tone. The unit does not ring. The display is blank. LCD display response is slow. You cannot dial. The other party suddenly cannot hear your voice during a conversation. You cannot program items such as the dialing mode. You cannot make long distance calls. Cause/solution ≥ Check the connections (page 9). ≥ Remove the batteries and reinstall them to reset the unit. ≥ Disconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect the line to a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working telephone does not operate properly, contact your service provider/telephone company. ≥ The RINGER selector is set to OFF. Set to HIGH or LOW (page 13). ≥ Install new batteries (page 8). ≥ Change LCD contrast setting to higher level (page 21). ≥ Batteries are running low. Install or replace the batteries. ≥ Check the dial tone. If there is no dial tone, check the connections (page 9). ≥ The dialing mode may be set incorrectly. Change the settings (page 11). ≥ The dialed number is restricted. To cancel, see page 22. ≥ {MUTE} may have been pressed during the conversation. The unit does not work.
Check the connections (page 9).
