4-2 4. Operate the multi-color touch screen Altering stitch settings Stitch width You can change the stitch width with the +1- icons. Stitch length j You can change the stitch length with the ÷1- icons from 0,2 mm to 6 mm. We have preset the length to 6 mm. This is the maximum value possible. If you have selected this 40 value, the function is automatically shown as inactive. The stitch length is reduced in small steps and has a minimum value of 0.2 mm. Thpering 40 )j( Thread tension You can change the thread tension as needed for speciality techniques. We have increased the tension to 4. If you have selected the maximum value, the function is automatically shown as inactive. The stitch settings will not be changed permanently. The next time the stitch is opened, the stitch length will automatically be restored to 1 .5 mm, the stitch width to 4.0 mm and the tension is set to a value of 4.0. If you open the context menu . you have the possibility to permanently save the changes for the zigzag stitch. Stitch settings as stitch length and needle position as well as thread tension can be adjusted. Setting sewing functions and programs You can alter settings and sewing functions of the zigzag stitch. Simply touch i4t1 for the different choices. Example: Tapering Tapering is a technique where the width of the zigzag stitch is altered during sewing. Your Pfaff creative 2140 allows you to select different effects or angles which are sewn automatically. Zigzag stitch No 3 is altered from the center needle position. 'E- The width of the zigzag starts at 0 mm, and becomes wider until the previously selected stitch width is reached. If you press the reverse key. the width is automatically reduced to 0 mm. '° The width of the zigzag stitch tapers to 0 mm and stops. For mitered corners, pivot your fabric and continue stitching. The stitch will automatically become wider as you sew. If you press the foot control, all changes will be saved but the window remains open, allowing you to make further changes. Touch C. the window is closed without any changes being saved.
