Using the TV's Menu System CC Dig. CC Style Go back Closed Caption Setting Analog CC Type Digital CC Type Digital CC Preset Digital CC Style On... CC1... Service 1... Custom... ... Press < or > key to select the closed caption setting. Go back Closed Caption Size Closed Caption Font Closed Caption Opacity Closed Caption Color CC Background Color Standard... Font 1... Solid... White... Black... Press < or > key to select the closed caption size. Digital CC Preset Lets you choose the way the digital closed captioning appears on the screen. Default Uses the settings sent by the broadcaster for the size, color, and font used for digital closed captioning, as well as for the color and opacity of the captioning's background. Custom Lets you customize the size, color, and font used for digital closed captioning, as well as for the color and opacity of the captioning's background (see the Digital CC Style menu item below). Digital CC Style If you set the Digital CC Preset option to Custom, you can customize the following digital closed-captioning settings: Closed caption size Lets you set the size of the digital closed-caption text. You can choose Standard, Large, or Small. Closed caption font Lets you select a character design for the digital closed-caption text. A font is a complete assortment of letters, numbers, punctuation marks, etc. of a given design. You can choose from eight fonts with varying character styles and spacing. Closed caption opacity Lets you set the appearance of the space behind the digital closed-caption text: Solid, Transparent, Translucent, or Flashing. Closed caption color Lets you choose the color of the digital closedcaption text: White, Black, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Magenta, or Cyan. CC background color Lets you choose the color of the area of the screen behind the digital closed-caption text: White, Black, Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Magenta, or Cyan. Note: These captioning style options only have an effect on true digital closed captions. Not all captioning on digital channels is digital captioning-it depends on what the broadcaster is sending. If the closed captioning for a program is not digital, the Digital CC Style settings will not have an effect. 50 Chapter 4
