Example: You wish to speak to a person in the room but do not want the person on the phone to hear. To switch the microphone off temporarily: ᮣ Press Mute ( ). The other person can no longer hear you. The Mute icon ( ) displays in the call box. To switch the microphone back on: ᮣ Press Unmute ( ). The other person can hear you again. Putting a Call on Hold You can place the current call on hold at any time. If your network supports this service, you can also make another call while a call is in progress. To place a call on hold: 1. Press Options ➔ Hold, then press the Select soft key or . 2. Press the Resume soft key to reactivate the call. To make a new call while a call is in progress: 1. Enter the new phone number that you wish to dial or look it up in the Contact List. 2. Press to dial the second call. The first call is then automatically put on hold. - or - Press the Options soft key, select Hold, and press . This places the currently active call on hold and allows you to make a new call in the normal way. 26
