Which discs can you play on this system? Audio CDs: CD-DA format CDs CD-DA (Compact Disc Digital Audio) is a recording standard used for audio CDs. Note on DualDiscs A DualDisc is a two sided disc product which mates DVD recorded material on one side with digital audio material on the other side. Getting Started Hooking up the system Perform the following procedures 1 to 4 to hook up your system using the supplied cords and accessories. Getting Started Plug type B Extend the FM lead antenna horizontally 4 Connect the power cord to a wall outlet. If the plug does not fit the wall socket, detach the supplied plug adaptor (only for models equipped with an adaptor). To turn on the system, press ?/1. Inserting two R6 (size AA) batteries into the remote Note If you do not use the remote for a long period of time, remove the batteries to avoid possible damage from battery leakage and corrosion. CD - Play CD - Play Loading a disc Use buttons on the unit for the operation. 1 Press Z. 2 Insert discs with the label side facing forward. Check that the lever on the left side of the respective slot raises. When you play a disc, insert it with the label side forward. Playing a disc - Normal Play/Shuffle Play This system lets you play CDs in different play modes. Playing repeatedly - Repeat Play You can play all the tracks or a single track on a disc repeatedly. Press REPEAT repeatedly during playback until "REP" or "REP 1" appears. REP: For all the tracks on the disc up to five times. REP 1: For a single track only. To cancel Repeat Play Press REPEAT - Sony CMT-HPZ7 | Operating Instructions - Page 17

Timer Timer recording radio programs - Rec Timer You can record a preset radio station from a specified time. Display Turning off the display - Power Saving Mode The clock display can be turned off to minimize the amount of power consumed during standby (Power Saving Mode). Checking the total playing time and titles Press DISPLAY repeatedly in stop mode. Troubleshooting The remote does not function. • Remove the obstacle. • Move the remote power cord is connected to wall outlet. CD player "LOCKED" appears. • Contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility.
