Additional Information Symptom No sound or only a very lowlevel sound is heard from the surround speakers. There is no sound from the DIGITAL IN COAXIAL/ OPTICAL jack. Noise is heard on AM radio. Remedy • Check the speaker connections and settings (pages 25, 64). • Check the "DEC. MODE" setting (page 37). • Depending on the source, the effect of the surround speakers may be less noticeable. • A 2 channel source is being played. • The sampling frequency of the input stream is more than 48 kHz. • Check the location of the AM loop antenna (aerial) and cord (page 31). Operation Symptom Remedy Radio stations cannot be tuned in. • Check that the antenna (aerial) is connected securely. Adjust the antenna (aerial) or connect an external antenna (aerial) if necessary. • The signal strength of the stations is too weak (when tuning in with automatic tuning). Use direct tuning. • No stations have been preset or the preset stations have been cleared (when tuning by scanning preset stations). Preset the stations (page 67). The remote does not function. • There are obstacles between the remote and the unit. • The distance between the remote and the unit is too far. • The remote is not pointed at the remote sensor on the unit. • The batteries in the remote are weak. The disc does not play. • There is no disc inserted. • The disc is upside down. Insert the disc with the playback side facing down. • The disc is skewed on the disc tray. • The system cannot play CD-ROMs, etc. (page 7). • The region code on the DVD does not match the system. • Moisture has condensed inside the unit and may cause damage to the lenses. Remove the disc and leave the unit turned on for about half an hour. The MP3 file cannot be played. • The DATA CD is not recorded in ISO 9660 Level 1/Level 2, or Joliet. • The DATA DVD is not recorded in UDF (Universal Disk Format). • The MP3 file does not have the extension ".mp3." • The data is not formatted in MP3 even though it has the extension ".mp3." • The data is not MPEG1 Audio Layer 3 data. • The system cannot play audio tracks in MP3PRO format. • Check the [MEDIA] setting (page 53). The JPEG image file cannot be played. • The DATA CD is not recorded in ISO 9660 Level 1/Level 2, or Joliet. • The DATA DVD is not recorded in UDF (Universal Disk Format). • It has an extension other than ".jpeg" or ".jpg." • It is larger than 3,072 (width) × 2,048 (height) in normal mode, or more than 2,000,000 pixels in progressive JPEG image file which is mainly used on Internet Web sites. • It does not fit the TV screen (those images are reduced). • Check the [MEDIA] setting (page 53). 95GB

Operation
