The indicator automatically appears beside the selected rating and all ratings below it, indicating that the programs that match the ratings will be blocked. Example: TV rating in the U.S.A. The indicator changes to "-" and all ratings above it are unlocked. Some U.S. TV ratings have additional content ratings called "extenders." The extenders are defined as follows: D (sexually suggestive Dialogue), FV (Fantasy Violence), L (coarse Language), S (Sexual situations) and V (Violence). By setting the extenders, you can define additional viewing limits. For more details of extenders, see page 28. All of the extenders included in the selected ratings will be blocked. If you want to allow any of them to be viewed, go to step 8. Otherwise, go to step 10. 8 Press the M/m buttons to select the extender to be viewed and press the OK button. "-" appears beside the selected extender, indicating that the programs that match the extender can be viewed. To relock the canceled extender, select . The indicator appears to show that the programs that match the extender will be blocked again. 9 Repeat step 8 for other extenders. All programs that match the ratings you select and higher, except for the extenders that were canceled, will be blocked. US 10 Press the MENU button to exit the menu screen. To block programs or movies broadcast without a rating The unrated option allows you to block programs or movies that are broadcast without a rating. The unrated option is available only when you have selected "U.S.A." as your country/region. 1 Perform steps 1 and 2 of "Selecting a Custom Rating" on page 26. 2 Press the M/m buttons to select "Unrated" and press the OK button. 3 Press the M/m buttons to select "Block" and press the OK button. Option Description Allow Allows programs and movies that are broadcast without a rating. Block Blocks all programs and movies that are broadcast without a rating. 4 Press the MENU button to exit the menu screen. Note If you choose to block unrated TV programs, be aware that the following types of programs may be blocked: programs broadcast from another country/region, emergency broadcasts, political programs, sports, news, public service announcements, religious programs, and weather. 27
