Check that you have received the following items with the VCR: • Remote commander • Size AA (R6) batteries • 75-ohm coaxial cable with F-type connectors Check your model name The instructions in this manual are for the 2 models: SLV-N700 and SLV-N500. Notes • The clock cannot be set automatically if you do not receive a channel that carries a time signal in your area. When S-VHS tapes are played in the SLV-N700, the enhanced resolution will not be visible on screen; there may also be picture distortion while playing the S-VHS tape in slow motion or while utilizing other special playback modes. To prevent accidental erasure, break off the safety tab as illustrated. To record on the tape again, cover the tab hole with adhesive tape. Recording TV programs using the VCR Plus+® system (SLV-N700 only) Just enter the PlusCode number listed in the TV program guide. The date, time and channel number of that program are set automatically. You can preset up to eight programs together with manual timer settings at one time. Setting the timer manually If the VCR Plus+ system is not available in your area, follow the instructions below to set the timer to record programs. You can preset up to eight programs together with the VCR plus+ system at one time. Before you start... • Check that the VCR clock is set to the - Sony SLV-N500 | Operating Instructions - Page 40
OK 6 MENU Press MENU to exit the menu. 7 Press ?/1 to turn off the VCR. The TIMER indicator appears in the display window and the VCR stands by for recording. When using a cable box, leave it on. The TIMER indicator disappears from the display window and the VCR switches on. Remember to press ?/1 to reset the VCR to the timer recording standby mode after using the VCR.
