If your TV cable is connected to your TV with a converter box or descrambler box. then connect your cable to the VCR as shown below. Note : The cable hookup below allows VCR/TV functions : however. it is not possible to view one channel while recording another channel. (2) Channel Chart The table below lists all 110 VHF, UHF and cable stations that this VCR tuner can receive. Not all stations are available in all areas. (3) Tuner Works This VCR's 110-channel PLL tuner is active when VCR power is on and you set the INPUT SELECT switch to TUN or SC: The tuner has two functions : • It selects VHF/UHF/Cable sources to be recorded on the tape. • It selects the output of the VCR when neither recording nor playback is - Symphonic 5600A | Owner's Manual - Page 14

(4) Video Cassette This VCR will operate with any cassette that has the VHS mark. For best results we recommend the use of high-quality tape. The table below shows the recording/playback time using T-60. T-120 or T160 tape in the SP. MEMORY BUTTON The MEMORY button can be used. during rewind, to automatically stop the tape when the counter reaches a preset approx. 0000 reading. Viewing Another You can record one program while viewing another, then playback the recorded program at your convenience. Start the recording by following instructions 1 to 9 under "Viewing and Recording the Same Program" page 19. (4) Automatic Timer Recording You may set the VCR to turn on. record and turn off five separate times, during any fourteen day period or you may set it to turn on. record, arid turn off at the same time every day and one program once a week. *Power must be on when setting the timer. Tracking Control Knob This knob is used to help eliminate video "noise" (lines and dots on the screen). For tapes recorded on your VCR. the center setting is usually best Tapes recorded on other VCRs may required adjustment. REMOTE CONTROL OPERATION You can operate all of your VCR's tape transport functions from the Remote Control (included).
