Introduction Recording Playback Editing Recording Data cannot be recorded on a DVD-RAM disc. • The disc is protected from deleting data. → Set the write-protect tab to the opposite of "PROTECT" ( page 8). • The disc is protected by a PC or the recorder. → Disable the protection on the device which protected the disc. • The disc space is not sufficient. → Delete unwanted data ( page 47) or prepare a new disc. • The disc is not initialized. → Initialize the disc ( page 28). • The disc may contain errors. → Complete the physical format on the disc ( page 29). • The physical format on the disc is not completed. → Complete the physical format on the disc ( page 29). Program Timer programming cannot be completed. • Clock setting has not been completed. → Complete the clock setting ( page 33, "INSTALLATION GUIDE"). • The programs list is full. → Cancel unwanted programs ( page 44). • When the power goes down, timer programs will be deleted. → Check the timer programs and set them again. Remote control The remote control does not work. • The batteries in the remote control are exhausted. → Replace all the batteries in the remote control ( page 18, "INSTALLATION GUIDE"). • The light emitter of the remote control is not pointed at the receptor of this recorder. → Point the emitter of the remote control at the receptor of this recorder. • The receptor of this recorder is located too far away from the remote control. → Operate the remote control within 7 meters (23 ft) from the receptor of this recorder. • There are obstacles between the remote control and this recorder. → Remove any obstacles. • The receptor is disturbed by sunlight or fluorescent light. → Change the place of this recorder or shield the light. • The remote mode is not appropriate. → Adjust the remote mode of the remote control and this recorder ( page 44, "INSTALLATION GUIDE"). • The setting of the TV/DVD selector is not correct. → Set the TV/DVD selector to the equipment to operate. Point the emitter of the remote control at the
receptor of this recorder.

The receptor of this recorder is located too far away
from the remote control.

Operate the remote control within 7 meters (23 ft)
from the receptor of this recorder.

There are obstacles between the remote control and
this recorder.
→
Remove any obstacles.

The receptor is disturbed by sunlight or fluorescent
light.

Change the place of this recorder or shield the
light.
