5 Network Scanning This chapter explains how to install and setup the Network Scanning service. Network Scanning enables Users to convert their hard copy documents to electronic files and retrieve them from a Server or Workstation on the network. The User can manually retrieve their image from the Scan Repository or an application can be used to retrieve the scanned documents automatically. The instructions on the following pages describe how to setup Network Scanning via Internet Services. Information Checklist Before starting the Installation procedure, please ensure that the following items are available and/or the tasks have been performed: 1. Ensure that the machine is fully functioning on the network. 2. TCP/IP and HTTP protocols must be enabled on the machine so that the machine's web browser can be accessed.
