Loading Paper Tray 1 Mode Tray 1 Mode defines the printer's media handling behavior to better fit the kind of printing you want to do. Three modes determine how paper size and type are set for Tray 1, and which tray is used if you do not select a specific tray: Automatic: The automatic setting enables incoming print jobs to set paper size and type. It prints from Tray 1 if paper is present at the start of a job unless the job has selected another tray. Dynamic (Default): The dynamic setting enables incoming print jobs to set paper size and type. It prints from Tray 1 if the tray is selected or Tray 1 contains the requested paper. If no tray has the requested paper, you can select Tray 1 when prompted on the control panel. Static: The static setting requires the user to select the paper size and type settings for the tray when you load the paper, or later using the Paper Tray Setup menu option on the control panel. It prints from Tray 1 if the tray is selected or Tray 1 contains the requested paper. If no tray has the requested paper, you can select Tray 1 when prompted on the control panel. Tray 1 Mode defines the printer’s media handling behavior to better fit the kind of printing you
want to do. Three modes determine how paper size and type are set for Tray 1, and which tray
is used if you do not select a specific tray:
Automatic
: The automatic setting enables incoming print jobs to set paper size and type. It
prints from Tray 1 if paper is present at the start of a job unless the job has selected another
tray.
Dynamic
(Default): The dynamic setting enables incoming print jobs to set paper size and
type. It prints from Tray 1 if the tray is selected or Tray 1 contains the requested paper. If no
tray has the requested paper, you can select Tray 1 when prompted on the control panel.
Static
: The static setting requires the user to select the paper size and type settings for the tray
when you load the paper, or later using the Paper Tray Setup menu option on the control panel.
It prints from Tray 1 if the tray is selected or Tray 1 contains the requested paper. If no tray has
