MIDI Functions Local ON/OFF The Local ON/OFF setting determines whether or not the internal voices respond to the notes you play on the DD-55's pads. Setting this to OFF disconnects the DD-55's pads from the voices. However, data produced by the DD-55 is transmitted via the MIDI OUT terminal. on (Local ON) ..........The internal voices will be played and controlled by the DD-55 and its pads. Data received via MIDI will also be played by the DD-55. oFF (Local OFF) .....Striking the pads will not produce any sound from the voices. However, the data will be transmitted through the MIDI OUT. However, data received via MIDI will be played by the DD-55. • Normally, this should be set to "on" - since you'll want to hear the sound of the DD-55 as you play it. However, for external sequencer applications, you may need to set this to "oFF" to avoid getting "double" notes, in which the sounds of the DD-55 are played twice - once from the pads and once again by the pad data routed through the sequencer. on 1 Display the Local On/Off Setting.
