MIDI Functions On the PSR-9000, 16 channels of MIDI data can be transmitted/received over a single MIDI cable, or over a serial cable (using the TO HOST terminal). Since the PSR-9000 features two independent MIDI "ports" (A and B), a total of 32 MIDI channels can be used simultaneously. For example, several tracks can be transmitted simultaneously, including the auto accompaniment data (as shown below). MIDI Functions
On the PSR-9000, 16 channels of MIDI data can be transmitted/received over a single MIDI cable, or over a serial
cable (using the TO HOST terminal).
Since the PSR-9000 features two independent MIDI “ports” (A and B), a total
of 32 MIDI channels can be used simultaneously.
For example, several tracks can be transmitted simultaneously, including the auto accompaniment data (as shown below).
As you can see, it is essential to determine which data is to be sent over which MIDI channel when transmitting
MIDI data (page 151).
What You Can Do With MIDI
Record performance data (1-16 channels) using the PSR-9000 Auto Accompaniment fea-
tures on a external sequencer (such as a personal computer). After recording, you can
then edit the data with the sequencer, then play it again on the PSR-9000 (playback).
