• You use SONG PLAY mode to select songs for replay, to start and stop the replay, and to set the various replay parameters. • You can switch into VOICE mode and make adjustments in track voices and track balances while playback is in progress. • By selecting playback of an empty song (a song without data), you can use the auto-accompaniment feature as background for normal keyboard play. (→ p.106) • SONG PLAY includes eight submodes.You can switch from SONG PLAY into any of these submodes by pressing the appropriate key, as follows. 1(PlayFx) Move to Play Effects submode. To stop the playback, press s. • If you start song replay from a point other than the beginning, you may find that some of the song's PATTERNtrack and CHORD-track data drops out. You can solve the problem by moving the start point to a measure at which a full pattern change occurs. 1. SONG PLAY 1. Song number and name 2 • You use the song number to select a song for playback or recording. • The screen displays the song name (if any) directly to the right of the song number. • To set or change the song name, you use the SONG NAME job (→ p.165). 0101 1101 Song no.: 01,...,20 1. Move the cursor onto the song number on the screen. 2. Select a song number using the data dial, n/y, or the numeric keypad. 2. Pattern setup • This parameter determines whether the QY700 uses the pattern effects (the effects set up within each pattern) during song replay. • If you set this to OFF, the QY700 will not use the pattern effects. Instead, it uses the effects that you have selected under the EFFECT mode. • If you set this to ON, the QY700 uses the effects set up within the current pattern. In this case, the pattern's effect settings overwrite the EFFECT-mode settings. The EFFECTmode settings therefore changes each time the pattern changes. Chapter 2. SONG MODE 73
