If your telephone does not work, disconnect the microfilter and contact either your local telephone company or the provider of the microfilter. Figure 179 Connecting a Microfilter You can also use a Y-Connector with a microfilter in order to connect both your modem and a telephone to the same wall jack without using a POTS splitter. 1 Connect a phone cable from the wall jack to the single jack end of the Y-Connector. 2 Connect a cable from the double jack end of the Y-Connector to the "wall side" of the microfilter. 3 Connect another cable from the double jack end of the Y-Connector to the ZyXEL Device. 4 Connect the "phone side" of the microfilter to your telephone as shown in the following figure. Appendix J Splitters and Microfilters

Connect a cable from the wall jack to the “wall side” of the microfilter.

Connect the “phone side” of the microfilter to your telephone as shown in the following

figure.
