Here's how to avoid setting off the alarm by accident: If you don't want to arm the Theft Deterrent system, the vehicle closed. should be locked with the doorkey after the doors are Always unlock a door with a key or use the Keyless Entry System. Unlocking a door any other way will set off the alarm. If you set off the alarm by accident, unlock any door with your key. You can also turn off the alarmby using the Keyless Entry System. The alarm won't stop if you try to unlock a door any other way. __ c - How to Test the Alarm 1. From inside the vehicle roll down your window, then get out of your vehicle, keeping the door open. 2. From outside the vehicle with the door open, lock the vehicle using the power door lock or theKeyless Entry System and close the door. 3. Reach in and unlock the doorusing the manual lock and open the will door. The horn sound andyour headlamps will flash. If the alarm does sound when it should, check to seeif the horn not works. The hornfuse may be blown. To replace the fuse, see "Fuses and Circuit Breakers" in the Index. If the fuse does not need be replaced to you may need to have your Cadillac serviced.
