Il sistema immobilizer Per aumentare la protezione contro il furto, il motociclo è dotato di un sistema elettronico di blocco del motore (IMMOBILIZER) che si attiva automaticamente ogni volta che si spegne il quadro. I Leva comando frizione (fig. 12) La leva (1) comanda il disinnesto della frizione. Quando viene tirata verso la manopola si interrompe la trasmissione del moto dal motore al cambio e quindi alla ruota motrice. Leva comando starter (fig. 13) Il comando starter serve per agevolare la partenza a freddo del motore e innalzare il regime di rotazione minimo, dopo l'avviamento. Tappo serbatoio carburante (fig. 20) I Apertura Sollevare il coperchietto (1) di protezione ed inserire la chiave nella serratura. Ruotare di 1/4 di giro la chiave in senso orario per sbloccare la serratura. Sollevare il tappo. Serratura sella e portacasco Apertura (fig. 21) Inserire la chiave nella serratura (4) e ruotarla in senso orario per circa 1/4 di giro fino ad ottenere il sollevamento della parte posteriore della sella. I Lucchetto antifurto (fig. 23) Sotto la sella é alloggiato il lucchetto antifurto (1) rimuovere l'elastico (2) per estrarlo. Si consiglia di utilizzarlo, come supporto al bloccasterzo, quando si parcheggia il motociclo in un luogo poco sicuro. Specchi retrovisori (fig. 28) Gli specchi retrovisori del motociclo sono composti da due parti unite da una speciale molla interna che permette una rotazione controllata dello specchio, rispetto al cupolino, in caso di urto. I Registri di regolazione forcella anteriore La forcella del motociclo è regolabile sia nella fase di estensione (ritorno) sia nella compressione degli steli. Controlli prima dell'avviamento I Attenzione La mancata esecuzione delle ispezioni prima della partenza può causare danni al veicolo e procurare lesioni gravi al conducente e al passeggero. Avviamento motore I Note Per avviare il motore già caldo seguite la procedura descritta per "Temperatura ambiente alta". Attenzione Prima di avviare il motore familiarizzare con i comandi che si devono utilizzare durante la guida. I Si tratta di un dispositivo idraulico-elettronico che provvede a gestire la pressione all'interno del circuito frenante nel momento in cui il sensore installato sulla ruota avvisa la centralina che la ruota stessa sta per bloccarsi. I Cupolino Rimuovere le coperture laterali. Rimuovere gli specchi retrovisori svitando le quattro viti interne (1, fig. 47). Staccare le connessioni dei cavi degli indicatori di direzione. Semicarene superiori e inferiori accoppiate Rimuovere le coperture laterali e il cupolino. I Sollevamento serbatoio carburante Svitare le due viti (1, fig. 51) che fissano il coperchio al supporto del serbatoio e rimuoverlo sfilandolo dall'interruttore di accensione. Sostituzione e pulizia dei filtri aria Il filtro aria deve essere sostituito agli intervalli prescritti sulla tabella di manutenzione periodica, vedi Libretto di Garanzia. I Controllo livello liquido di raffreddamento Controllare il livello del liquido di raffreddamento contenuto nel serbatoio d'espansione, sul lato destro del motociclo; deve risultare compreso tra i riferimenti di MAX e di MIN del serbatoio (fig. 56). Controllo livello fluido frizione e freni Il livello non deve scendere al di sotto della tacca di MIN evidenziata sui rispettivi serbatoi (fig. 58). Un livello insufficiente facilita l'ingresso di aria nel circuito rendendo il sistema inefficiente. Verifica usura pastiglie freno I Freno anteriore (fig. 59) Per facilitare il controllo delle pastiglie dei freni, senza doverle rimuovere dalla pinza, ogni pastiglia riporta un indicatore di consumo. Sulla pastiglia in buone condizioni debbono essere ben visibili le scanalature praticate sul - 2003 Ducati SportTouring ST4 S ABS | Owners Manual - Page 59
Lubrificazione delle articolazioni Periodicamente è necessario controllare le condizioni della guaina esterna del cavo di comando acceleratore e comando starter. Non devono presentare schiacciamenti o screpolature nel rivestimento plastico esterno. Verificare, il funzionamento scorrevole del cavo - 2003 Ducati SportTouring ST4 S ABS | Owners Manual - Page 60
I Regolazione del cavo comando acceleratore La manopola di comando acceleratore in tutte le posizioni di sterzata deve avere una corsa a vuoto, misurata sulla periferia del bordino della manopola, di 1,5÷2 mm. Carica della batteria (fig. 62) Per ricaricare la batteria è consigliabile rimuoverla dal motociclo. Rimuovere la semicarena destra (pag. 50), svitare la vite (1) e rimuovere la staffa di fissaggio superiore. I Tensionamento della catena trasmissione Far girare lentamente la ruota posteriore per trovare la posizione in cui la catena risulta più tesa. Con il motociclo sul cavalletto centrale, spingere la catena con un dito verso l'alto in corrispondenza della mezzeria del forcellone. Lubrificazione della catena trasmissione Questo tipo di catena è provvista di anelli o-ring per proteggere gli elementi di scorrimento dagli agenti esterni e mantenere più a lungo la lubrificazione.
