Maximum trailer weight is calculated assuming the driver and one passenger are the tow vehicle and it in has all the required trailering equipment. The weight of additional optional equipment, passengers cargo in and the tow vehicle must be subtractedfrom the maximum trailer weight. Two-wheel-drive models with a GVWR of 4,200 lbs. (1 907 kg) and four-wheel-drive models with the ZR2 suspension package are limited to a 2,000 lbs. (908 kg)trailer rating. The Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) includes the curb weight of the vehicle, any cargo you may carry in it, and the people who will be riding in the vehicle. And if you will tow a trailer, you must add the tongue load to the GVW because your vehicle will be carrying thatweight, too.
