Hood REMOVAL 1. Open the tailgate to the angle where you can release the support brackets from the lugs on both sides. 2. Open the tailgate to about 30° from vertical and pull up the right side of the tailgate to unhook the right side. 3. Slide the tailgate a little to the right to unhook the left side. To install the tailgate, follow the removal procedure in reverse order. After closing the tailgate, try pulling it toward you to make sure it is securely closed. We recommend you keep the tailgate closed when not in use. NOTICE zBefore unhooking the tailgate, fold the support brackets. zMake sure the support brackets are securely latched on both side panels when installing the tailgate. To open the hood, pull the hood lock release lever under the dash. The hood will spring up slightly. In front of the vehicle, press up on the auxiliary catch lever and lift the hood. Then hold the hood open by inserting the support rod into the slot. Before closing the hood, check to see that you have not forgotten any tools, rags, etc. and return the support rod to its clip- this prevents rattles. Then lower the hood and make sure it locks into place. If necessary, press down gently on the front edge to lock it. ! CAUTION After inserting the rod, make sure it supports the hood securely. 12
