'99 AVALON (USA/CANADA) −U Same angle With the child restraint system installed, check that your driving position is satisfactory and that the child restraint system does not interfere with your driving. If your driving position is not satisfactory, or the child restraint system interferes with your driving, install it at another position. Move both front seats fully back CAUTION Same height D When using a forward−facing child restraint system, move the driver and passenger seats as far back as possible, set both seatbacks to the same angle as the back of the child restraint system, set both seat cushions at the same height and make sure your driving position is satisfactory. 1. Run the center lap belt through or around the convertible seat following the instructions provided by its manufacturer and insert the tab into the buckle taking care not to twist the belt. Keep the lap portion of the belt tight. D A forward−facing child restraint system should be put on the front seat only when it is unavoidable. Always move the seat as far back as possible, because the force of a deploying airbag could cause death or serious injury to the child. When installing a child restraint system in the front seat center position, move the driver and passenger seats as far back as possible, set both seatbacks to the same angle as the back of the child restraint system, and set both seat cushions at the same height so that the child restraint system is securely restrained.
