'06 TUNDRA_U (L/O 0508) Tailgate D Never leave anyone (particularly a small child) alone in your vehicle, especially with the ignition key still inserted. Otherwise, he/she could use the power back window switch and get trapped in a window. Unattended person (particularly a small child) can be involved in a serious accident. Support cable bracket D Keep the back window closed while driving. This not only keeps the luggage from being thrown out but also prevents exhaust gases from entering the vehicle. OPENING To open the tailgate, pull the handle up. The support cables will hold the tailgate horizontal. See "-Stowage precautions" in Section 2 for precautions when loading luggage. After closing the tailgate, try pulling and pushing it to make sure it is securely closed. REMOVAL 1. Open the tailgate to the angle where you can release the brackets on the support cables from the lugs on both sides. To release the support cable bracket, lift it up and slide it off.
