06 12.07 AUDIO/VIDEO SYSTEM AUX adapter If you install an audio system other than a genuine audio system, you will not be able to use the AUX adapter. Audio/video system operating hints NOTICE XS18009 To ensure correct audio/video system operations: D Be careful not to spill beverages over the audio system. D Do not put anything other than a compact disc into the slot. D Do not put anything other than an appropriate disc into the DVD player. An AUX adapter is installed on the instrument panel. By inserting a mini plug into the AUX adapter, you can listen to music from a portable audio device through the vehicle's speaker system. To use the AUX adapter, switch to the AUX mode (external device mode) by pressing the "DISC·AUX" button. When the AUX adapter is in use, "AUX" will appear on the display. To adjust the volume, turn the "PWR·VOL" knob. When using a portable audio device connected to the power outlet, noise may occur during playback. If this happens, use the power source of the portable audio device. D The use of a cellular phone inside or near the vehicle may cause a noise from the speakers of the audio system which you are listening to. However, this does not indicate a malfunction. RADIO RECEPTION Usually, a problem with radio reception does not mean there is a problem with your radio - it is just the normal result of conditions outside the vehicle. 196
