1-3. Opening, closing and locking the doors n If the back door opener is inoperative The back door can be operated from the inside. STEP 1 Remove the cover. 1 Before driving STEP 2 Turn the lever. n The power back door can be opened when l The "POWER" switch is in ON mode, and the shift lever is in P. l The "POWER" switch is OFF or in ACCESSORY mode. The power back door can be opened even when the glass hatch is opened. The glass hatch will not be closed when the power back door is being closed. Close the glass hatch manually. n Jam protection function (vehicles with power back door) If anything obstructs the power back door while it is closing/opening, the back door will automatically operate in the opposite direction. n If the power back door does not work The back door must be initialized. To initialize, close the back door completely by hand. n Back door closer (vehicles with power back door) In the event that the back door is left slightly open, the back door closer will automatically close it to the fully closed position. 81
