1-3. Opening, closing and locking the doors n If the back door opener is inoperative The back door can be operated from the inside. STEP 1 Remove the cover. 1 Before driving STEP 2 Turn the lever. n The power back door can be opened when Vehicles without smart key system l The engine switch is in the "ON" position, and the shift lever is in P. l The engine switch is in the "ACC" or "LOCK" position. Vehicles with smart key system l The "POWER" switch is in ON mode, and the shift lever is in P. l The "POWER" switch is OFF or in ACCESSORY mode. The power back door can be opened even when the glass hatch is opened. The glass hatch will not be closed when the power back door is being closed. Close the glass hatch manually. n Jam protection function (vehicles with power back door) If anything obstructs the power back door while it is closing/opening, the back door will automatically operate in the opposite direction. n If the power back door does not work The back door must be initialized. To initialize, close the back door completely by hand. 71
