Unpack
Caution:
Do not open ink cartridge packages until you are ready to
install the ink. Cartridges are vacuum packed to maintain reliability.

Remove all protective materials from the printer,
including from inside the printer.

Lower the scanner unit.

Turn on and adjust

Connect the power
cord to the back of
the printer and to an
electrical outlet.
Caution:
Do not connect
to your computer yet.

To load legal-size paper in the ADF,
you will need to place the printer
with its right side at least 4 inches
(10 cm) away from the wall or any
other objects.

Press the
power button, then adjust the
control panel

Select settings

Select your language and country.
Touch the screen to select the desired option. Press

to see more countries.

Select
Summer
if Daylight Saving Time is in effect
(spring through summer); otherwise, select
Winter
.

Select the date format.

Use the numeric keypad to set the date, then press
Done
.

Select the time format (
12h
or
24h
).

Use the numeric keypad to set the time.

Press
Done
when finished.
Note:
You can change the date and time settings using the product’s

Install ink cartridges
1
Lift up the scanner unit.
2
Gently shake the BK (black) ink cartridge only. Do not
shake the PBK (photo black) cartridge or any of the other
color ink cartridges. Unpack the ink cartridges.
Caution:
Do not touch the areas shown below. Doing so may
prevent normal operation and printing.
