The PDU core contains a management module that collects measured power data from the current transformers (CTs) of the six C19 outlets (Figure 5). The RS-232 interface collects Power topology data from all discoverable connected components. Figure 6 shows how the RS-232 Data Communications Equipment (DCE) and Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) interfaces let you daisy-chain multiple Intelligent PDUs in a primary/secondary configuration to accommodate multi-zone and/or multiple AC buses within a rack. Using a web browser, you can monitor all power measurement and topology data collected by an Intelligent PDU (including data from secondary PDUs) through a GUI using a single IP address. Figure 19 shows the power distribution setup with four Intelligent PDUs (two primary/secondary pairs) directly supporting four HP c-Class BladeSystem chassis in two power zones. You should connect the Intelligent Extension Bars numbering from the bottom of the rack (Figure 20).
