Introduction
This document was created by Hewlett-Packard for the purpose of helping you install
Red Hat Linux 7.1 Professional on your HP NetServer, based on procedures tested by
HP. The objective of this document is to provide the information needed to achieve the
following tasks.

Install Red Hat Linux 7.1 Professional from CD-ROM.

Configure network settings.
Features
Red Hat Linux 7.1 Professional includes the 2.4.2 Linux kernel, XFree86 4.0.3, KDE 2.1,
GNOME 1.2 and a number of applications such as Samba and the TUX and apache web
servers. Red Hat 7.1 supports up to 64GB of RAM.
Requirements
Disk Space
: A full installation of Red Hat Linux 7.1 Professional requires around 2320
MB.
Hardware settings
: You will need to know the following information to complete the
installation:

The monitor's resolution, color depth, and refresh rate.
±²
The display (graphics) adapter manufacturer and model number.
±²
The Ethernet card manufacturer, model number, IRQ, and I/O address.
