Instructions for Extending the hp Integrity rx1600
Server in a Rack
The purpose of this document is to show the proper method for extending an rx1600 Server that is installed in a rack.
1.
Loosen the front bezel screws securing the server to the rack.

Disconnect the AC power cord from the server

The proper method to extend the server is by pushing it forward from the rear (
Figure 2
), or pulling forward via the
empty
drive bays (
Figure 3
).

CAUTION
If the server does not easily slide out,
do not
attempt to extend the server by pulling on the
drive tabs (
Figure 1
). This can result in a broken drive tab.
NOTE
Prior to extending the server on the rail, disconnect from AC power.
NOTE
If the drives are removed, be sure to note which drive was installed in which bay.
Installing the drives in the incorrect bay may result in a nonbootable system.
