IMPORTANT:
For further Questions and Answers (Q&A) that are not located in this Guide, please refer to the compactor Use and Care
Guide’s “Troubleshooting” section.
Drawer won’t open
Compactor will not run
Drawer does not open and close smoothly
Compactor is not compacting/breaking bottles
Overheating smell
Drawer keeps popping open
My bag keeps ripping
You must start the compactor to unlock when in Extra Pac mode. Extra Pac (also called Compress or Solid Pack
feature [option
not on all models]) leaves the drawer locked.
Turn Extra Pac OFF to restore to normal operation.
Is the power switch ON? Compactors have a drawer safety switch that will not allow the compactor to start if the drawer is not
completely closed. Check to see if there are any foreign objects stopping the drawer from completely closing.
Integrated (Full Door) compactors START by pressing on the pedal. See Figure 2.
The latch may not be locked. See Figure 1. Debris might be under the drawer. Remove the drawer and inspect for any debris. See
the compactor Use and Care Guide for instructions.
Make sure that there is nothing sticky on the bottom of the drawer.
Fill the compactor before compacting. The compactor needs to be more than half full before compacting begins.
Bottles will not break all of the time.
Make sure the drawer is closed and remains closed during compacting.
Make sure the latch is locked. See Figure 1.
Debris under the drawer can cause the door to open. Remove the drawer to ensure that there is no debris under the drawer. See the
compactor Use and Care Guide for Instructions. Be sure trash is placed in the center of the drawer.
Use bags made specifically for the compactor. Spread new bags against the drawer walls. Check that your bag is attached to the
4 buttons.
Wrap the bag carrier rope around the buttons (not on all models). See Figure 1.
