Updating available options in the printer driver Once the printer software and any options are installed, it may be necessary to manually add the options in the printer driver to make them available for print jobs. Proper paper loading prevents jams and facilitates trouble-free printing. 1 Pull the tray completely out. Do not remove trays while a job prints or when the Busy light sequence appears on the printer control panel. Doing so may cause a jam. contribute to paper curling prior to printing and can cause feeding problems. Smoothness Paper smoothness directly affects print quality. If paper is too rough, toner cannot fuse to it properly. Selecting paper Using appropriate paper prevents jams and helps ensure trouble-free printing. To help avoid jams and poor print quality: • Always use new, undamaged paper. • Before loading paper, know the recommended print side of the paper.
