Troubleshooting guide for CD players

My disc will not play.
Make sure the disc is compatible with the player. Compatible formats are
listed in the specifications section of the manual.
Make sure the disc is loaded with its shiny playing side facing down. The
label side should face up and be visible while it is loaded in the disc
compartment.
Make sure that the disc is loaded properly in the disc compartment.
For top
loading portable players, center the disc on the spindle and
then push the disc down gently until it locks into place.
For tray
loading players, gently place the disc in the tray.
For slot
loading players, gently insert the disc into the slot until the
player grabs the disc.
Dirty discs may not play or may not play properly. If there are smudges or
dirt on the playing side of the disc, please clean it first. Use a soft, lint
free
cloth and wipe out from the center of the disc in a straight line.
Discs that are warped, cracked, or badly scratched should not be used in the
player.
The remote control does
not work.
The battery may be depleted. Replace the battery of the remote control.
Bright light (including sunlight) may interfere with the remote transmission.
Avoid placing the player in direct sunlight. Darken the room if possible.
Remove any obstacles between the remote control and the player.
Make sure to aim the remote control at the remote receiver on the player.
The player will not turn on.
Make sure that the power switch is set to the “ON” position or that the
Function switch is not set to "OFF".
Ensure that the player is plugged in to the proper power source. When using
batteries, make sure that they have a sufficient charge.
Ensure that the power source is functioning properly.
Ensure that the power plug is connected securely to the player.
