Remote Trunk Release Lockout The remote trunk release lockout switch in the glove box allows you to secure items in the trunk. Move the trunk release lockout switch to off, lock theglove box and take the key with you. Now the remoteTRUNK release to the left of the steering column will not open the trunk. It canbe dangerous to drive with the trunk lid open because carbon monoxide (CO) gas can come into yourvehicle. You can't see or smell CO. It can cause unconsciousness and even death. If you must drive with the trunk open or if lid electrical wiring or other cable connections must pass through the seal between the and the body trunk lid: Make sure all windows are shut. 0 W r n the fan on your heating or cooling system to its highest speed with the setting on any airflow selection except RECIRC. That will force outsideair into your vehicle. See "Comfort Controls" in the Index. 0 If you have air outlets on or under the instrument panel, open them all the way. See "Engine Exhaust" in the Index. To allow the remote TRUNK release switch to the left of the steering columnto operate again, move the trunk release lockout switchto on. Trunk Security Override The optional Remote Keyless Entry transmitter will open the trunk even if the trunk release lockout switch is in the off position.
