Anti-Lockout Feature Leaving the key in the ignition with any door open will disable the power door lock switches as well as the lock button on the remote keyless entry transmitter. If you close the doors, you can lock them using the remote keyless entry transmitter. It is always recommended that you remove the ignition key when locking your vehicle. The anti-lockout feature can be overridden by holding the power door lock switch for three seconds or longer. Remote Keyless Entry System If your vehicle has this feature, you can lock and unlock your doors or unlock your trunk from about 3 feet (1 m) up to 30 feet (9 m) away using the remote keyless entry transmitter supplied with your vehicle. Your keyless entry system Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system is intended to be used as an added vehicle entry device. It is not intended to replace a door key.
