Passenger Compartment Air Filter The passenger compartment air filter traps most of the pollen from the air entering the vehicle. The filter may need to be changed periodically. For how often to change the passenger compartment air filter, see Scheduled Maintenance on page 7-3. To access the passenger compartment air filter: 1. Use a tool to remove the cover. If the vehicle has tabs that allow the cover to be unlatched with your fingers, a tool will not be needed for this step. The access panel for the passenger compartment air filter is located under the hood near the windshield, on the passenger's side of the vehicle. 4-44
