STARTING AND OPERATING 297 Cooling System Tips - Trailer Towing To reduce potential for engine and transmission overheating, take the following actions in high ambient temperatures: • City Driving- when stopped, put the transmission in N (Neutral) and increase the engine idle speed. • Highway Driving- reduce your speed. • Air Conditioning- turn it off temporarily. • Hilly Terrain- Turn overdrive off.
