Owner maintenance checks OWNER MAINTENANCE CHECKS Listed below are maintenance checks and inspections that should be performed by the owner or qualified service technician at the indicated intervals. Service information and supporting specifications are provided in the Owner's Guide. Any adverse conditions should be brought to the attention of your dealer or qualified service technician for service advice as soon as possible. The Owner Maintenance checks are generally not covered by warranties and you may be charged for labor, parts and lubricants used. WHEN YOU STOP FOR FUEL: u Check the engine oil level. u Check the windshield washer fluid level. u Look for low or under-inflated tires. WHILE OPERATING YOUR VEHICLE: u Note any changes in the sound of the exhaust or any smell of exhaust fumes in the vehicle. u Check for vibrations in the steering wheel. Notice any increased steering effort or looseness in the steering wheel, or a change in its straight ahead position. u Notice if the vehicle constantly turns slightly or "pulls" to one side when travelling on smooth, level road. u When stopping, listen and check for strange sounds, pulling to one side, increased brake pedal travel or "hard to push" brake pedal. u If any slipping or changes in the operation of your transmission occurs, check the transmission fluid level. u Check automatic transmission P(Park) function. u Check parking brake. u Verify proper brake and ABS bulb check response when starting vehicle. 38
