If the light remains on or continues to flash, a malfunction has been detected. Contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible and have the system serviced. Normal braking (less ABS) is still functional unless is the brake warning light also illuminated. ABS Warning Light Rotate the end of the control up/down to increase/decrease the speed of the wipers. Push the end of the stalk: • quickly for a single swipe without fluid. • and hold briefly for three swipes with washer fluid. • and hold for a longer wash cycle. Rain-Sensing Wipers (if equipped) These wipers automatically activate when moisture is present on the windshield and the control is set to any setting except OFF. The wiper speed will vary based on the amount of moisture detected on the windshield. Ensure that the control is turned to OFF prior to entering a car wash. Note: For optimal wiper performance, clean your blades and glass regularly. Refer to your Owner's Guide for more information. 4 Airbag Readiness Light Illuminates briefly when the ignition is turned on. If this light fails to illuminate, remains on or continues to flash after the engine is started, contact your authorized dealer for service as soon as possible. A chime will also sound if there is a malfunction in the indicator light. To set the speed: 1. Press ON. 2.  Accelerate to the desired speed. 3.  Press SET + or SET and take your foot off the accelerator. • To set a higher speed, press and hold SET + or press SET + repeatedly until the desired speed is reached. • To set a lower speed, press and hold SET - or press SET - repeatedly until the desired speed is reached. • To return to a previously set speed, press RESUME. • To turn off, press OFF or turn off the ignition. VOL: Press to increase/ decrease volume levels. : Press to access the previous/next radio station,  CD track or preset satellite radio channel. : Press to access voice  recognition, if equipped. : Press to access  SYNC® phone features, if equipped. Press the other side of the control to adjust the color intensity. When activated, the foot well areas and cup holders will illuminate with the chosen color. The controls are on the back of the center console. Press the left side of the control for minimum heat or press the right side for maximum heat. Press again to turn off. Distributes recirculated air through the instrument panel vents to cool the vehicle. This mode is more economical and efficient. May also help reduce undesirable odors from entering the vehicle. 9 Recirculated Air 6 Collision Warning System (if equipped) I N ST R U M E N T pa n e l Use extreme caution with any device or feature that may take your attention off the road. Ford recommends against the use of any hand-held device while driving and that you comply with all applicable laws. Your primary responsibility is the safe operation of the vehicle. Uses a radar sensor to detect if vehicles ahead of you, moving in the same direction, may be a collision risk. The system will alert you with an audible chime and red warning light which will appear above the dash. If the risk of collision increases, the system then increases brake support to help reduce collision speed. The system is active at speeds above approximately 5 mph (8 km/h). For more information on activating and deactivating the system, refer to Message center in the Instrument Cluster chapter. Note: Driving aids do not replace the need to watch where the vehicle is moving and brake where necessary. The system will not brake without the driver pressing the brake pedal. Refer to your Owner's In the event that the battery is low in your intelligent access key (IA key), or if there is excessive radio frequency interference, you can start the car by placing the IA key in the backup slot in your center console utility compartment. Insert the IA key into the slot with buttons facing out and with key ring up. Then press the ENGINE START button and brake pedal to start your vehicle as usual. The IA key can be removed from the backup slot once the vehicle is started, if desired. 13 4 SIRIUS Manual Override Control Press repeatedly to cycle through various airflow options. Refer to your Owner's Guide for more information. Power Rear Sunshade (if equipped) The power rear sunshade covers the rear window of the vehicle and is equipped with an automatic, one-touch, auto down feature. To move the shade up or down, press . To stop motion at any time, press the control again. Note: The sunshade will automatically retract when the vehicle is shifted into R (Reverse). 2 Press repeatedly to cycle through SAT1, SAT2 and SAT3 (satellite radio modes, if equipped). Refer to your Navigation supplement for more information. Press repeatedly to cycle through AM, FM1 or FM2 frequency bands. Press to enter CD/MP3 mode. If a disc is already present in the system, CD play will begin where it last ended. Press repeatedly to access: Bass, Treble, Balance, Fade, Speed compensated volume and DSP mode (if equipped). Press SEEK to adjust. Press to turn on/off. Turn to increase/decrease the temperature on the driver side of the vehicle (when PASS TEMP is active) or for the entire vehicle cabin (when PASS TEMP is not active). 10 Pass Temp 7 AUTO 5 8 Clock Heated and Cooled Driver/Passenger Seats (if equipped) Press repeatedly to cycle through various settings 6 Tune To set the time, press CLOCK. Use the memory preset numbers to enter the desired time and press OK. Press to activate automatic temperature control. The system will automatically determine fan speed, airflow location, A/C (on or off) and outside or recirculated air, to heat or cool the vehicle to reach the desired temperature. Press again to deactivate. Press to activate the passenger side climate control (dual zone). Turn the control to increase/ decrease temperature on the passenger side. Press again to turn off and return to single zone where the driver side temperature control determines the temperature for the entire vehicle.
