216 Stability Control USING ADVANCETRAC® The system automatically is enabled when you start your engine. You can disable the electronic stability control portion of the system when the transmission is in position R or, on SHO models, if you press the AdvanceTrac® switch and hold it for more than five seconds when the brakes are applied and the vehicle is at a stop. You can turn off the traction control portion of the system independently. See the Traction Control chapter. Button functions Default at start-up Button pressed momentarily Button pressed twice; brakes applied Button pressed and held more than 5 seconds; brakes applied; no throttle Button pressed again after deactivation AdvanceTrac® Features Icon Mode ESC status On during - bulb Enabled check Traction On Enabled control off Sport mode (SHO with On Enabled performance pack only) AdvanceTrac® Disabled (SHO with On Disabled performance pack only) AdvanceTrac® fully enabled Off Enabled TCS Enabled Disabled Enabled Disabled Enabled The SHO model is equipped with a sport mode which allows the driver to reduce normal AdvanceTrac® system intervention and provide a more spirited driving experience. To enter sport mode, press the stability control button twice rapidly with the brakes applied. The message appears in the information display that the system is now in sport mode.
