Jump Starting If your battery has run down, you may want to use another vehicleand some jumper cables tostart your vehicle. But please use the following steps to do it safely. Batteries can hurt you. 'I can be dangerous rley because: They contain acid that can burn you. They contain gas that can explode ignite. or 0 They contain enough electricity to burn you. If you don't follow these stepsexactly, some o r all of these things can hurt you. L I NOTICE: Ignoring these steps could result costly damage in to yourvehicle that wouldn't be covered by your warranty. Do not try tostart your vehicle by pushing or pulling it. This could damage yourvehicle, even if you have a manual transmission. And if you have an automatic transmission, won't start that way. it I . Check the other vehicle. It must have a 12-volt battery with a negative ground system. I NOTICE: If the other system isn't 12-volt system with a a negative ground, both vehicles can be damaged.
