EXPLANATION OF MAINTENANCE ITEMS Timing Chain The timing chain requires no periodic inspection. Tire Rotation See your Owner's Manual for tire rotation requirements. Check tire pressure and check tires for damage and uneven wear. If the vehicle is equipped with a spare tire, check the condition and pressure of the spare. Tire-Pressure Warning Sensors A tire-pressure sensor is mounted on each full-size wheel. These sensors do not require periodic maintenance. When a sensor's long-life lithium battery becomes discharged, the battery should be replaced by a qualified technician following procedures in Lexus service and repair publications. Transfer Case Inspect for signs of leakage. If you discover any leakage, have it repaired immediately by a qualified technician. For correct oil, refer to your Owner's Manual. Transmission Inspect each transmission component for signs of leakage. If you discover any leakage, have it repaired immediately by a qualified technician. (The electric motor/generators do not require periodic maintenance.) Any service that requires inspecting or replacing transmission fluid should be performed by a qualified technician following procedures in Lexus service and repair publications. Variable Gear Ratio Steering Assembly Inspect the variable gear ratio steering assembly for damage and loose electrical connections. Tighten loose connections and if you discover any damage, have it repaired immediately by a qualified technician following procedures in Lexus service and repair publications.
