If you select [IDE] mode, the options "SATAII 1,2,3,4 Configuration" and "eSATAII 1,2 Configuration" will appear. If you select [AHCI] mode, the options "Hot Plug" and "Link Power Management" will appear. AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) supports NCQ and other new features that will improve SATA disk performance but IDE mode does not have these advantages. 49

and [Disabled]. The default value is [IDE].
If you select [IDE] mode, the options “SATAII 1,2,3,4 Configuration” and
“eSATAII 1,2 Configuration” will appear.
If you select [AHCI] mode, the options “Hot Plug” and “Link Power Manage-
ment” will appear.
AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) supports NCQ and other
new features that will improve SATA disk performance but IDE
mode does not have these advantages.
